Soprano Titanium Laser
The Soprano Titanium is one of the most advanced systems for permanent hair reduction. At our studios in Cologne and Düsseldorf, we work exclusively with this device.
- Alexandrite
- 755 nm
- Diode
- 810 nm
- Nd:YAG
- 1064 nm
What is the Soprano Titanium?
The Soprano Titanium is a diode laser system that combines three wavelengths in one handpiece. It evolved from the well-known Soprano ICE range. That is why you will often hear names such as “Soprano Ice”, “Ice Laser” or “Soprano Ice Titanium”. They all refer to the same family of devices.
On this page, we explain what sets it apart from older lasers and from IPL, who it is suitable for and where even this device reaches its limits.
Technology
Three wavelengths: why it matters
Each wavelength penetrates the skin to a different depth and is absorbed to a different degree by the pigment in the hair. A device with only one wavelength is therefore always a compromise. The Soprano Titanium emits three wavelengths at the same time.
-
755 nm
Alexandrite · Superficial
Strongly absorbed by melanin, so it works well on lighter and finer hairs that sit closer to the surface.
-
810 nm
Diode · Medium depth
The classic wavelength for most hair and skin types. It reaches the hair root at medium depth.
-
1064 nm
Nd:YAG · Deepest
Penetrates deepest and is absorbed less by the pigment in the skin. This makes it the gentler choice for dark skin and for deep-rooted hairs, for example on the back.
In practice, this means we do not have to fit your skin and hair type to a device. We can adjust the treatment to you.
Gentler through movement and cooling
In-Motion technique
Older lasers work with single, very powerful pulses. You can feel every pulse, often described as the “snap of a rubber band”. The Soprano Titanium also works with the In-Motion technique (also called SHR): the handpiece moves evenly across the skin and delivers many weaker pulses in quick succession. This warms the hair root gradually rather than heating it abruptly.
Cooled contact surface
At the same time, a contact surface on the handpiece cools the surface of your skin. The heat goes where it is needed, into the hair root, while your skin stays protected. Most clients describe the sensation as warm with a slight tingling. In our experience, the most sensitive areas are the intimate area and upper lip.
Soprano Titanium, classic laser and IPL compared
| Feature | Soprano Titanium | Classic single-pulse laser | IPL (flash lamp) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Light source | Laser, three wavelengths | Laser, usually one wavelength | Broad-spectrum light, not a laser |
| Sensation | Warmth, slight tingling | Noticeable individual pulses | Noticeable, depending on the device |
| Dark skin | Possible (1064 nm) | Limited, depending on the wavelength | Usually not suitable |
| Large areas | Quick thanks to In-Motion | Slower | Varies |
| Skin cooling | Continuous | Not on all devices | Not on all devices |
Who the treatment suits, and who it doesn’t
-
Well suited
Dark to mid-brown hair on light to dark skin, on almost all body areas: from the face and underarms to the bikini line, legs and back.
-
Limited
Very fine, light or reddish hair. More sessions are needed here and the result is less predictable.
-
Not possible
White and grey hair. It lacks the pigment that absorbs the laser energy. This applies to every laser.
-
Check beforehand
Pregnancy, acute skin conditions, a fresh tan and medication that makes the skin sensitive to light. If in doubt, we will not treat you or will postpone your appointment.
What results are realistic?
- Typical number of sessions
- 6 to 8
- Weeks apart
- 4 to 8
After the first few sessions, hair already grows back noticeably thinner and more slowly. For permanent hair reduction, you will usually need 6 to 8 sessions, 4 to 8 weeks apart. After that, most of the hair is gone for the long term, though a few fine hairs may remain.
On hormonally influenced areas such as the chin, a top-up can be useful after a few years. Anyone who promises you total, lifelong results is promising more than a laser can honestly deliver.
What happens during a session with us
-
1. Consultation and trial treatment
Free of charge. We look at your skin and hair, ask about medication and treat a small test area.
-
2. Preparation
Shave the area 1 to 2 days beforehand. You should stop waxing, epilating and plucking at least 4 weeks beforehand, because the laser needs the hair root.
-
3. Treatment
We apply a cooling gel and glide the handpiece across your skin. Underarms take a few minutes, both legs about an hour.
-
4. Afterwards
Slight redness usually fades within a few hours. No sauna or intensive exercise for 1 to 2 days, and consistent sun protection. The hairs fall out over the following one to three weeks.
You are treated by specialists with the Fachkunde nach NiSV, the qualification legally required in Germany for laser treatments on the skin.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions about the Soprano Titanium
Is “Soprano Ice” the same as “Soprano Titanium”?
Both belong to the Soprano range by Alma Lasers. The Soprano Titanium is the newer generation, combining three wavelengths in one handpiece.
Can I have laser hair removal in summer?
Yes, as long as the area is not freshly tanned and you consistently wear sun protection (SPF 50+). For large, sun-exposed areas such as the legs, we often prefer to start in autumn.
How much does Soprano Titanium laser hair removal cost?
At Ice Laser, for example, €40 per session for the underarms or €150 per session for full legs (women).
